APEC Bio-Circular-Green Award 2025

The APEC BCG Award recognises distinguished individuals and/or organisations that have concretely implemented BCG economy approaches to advance sustainable and inclusive growth, to serve as examples and inspirations for communities to learn from, replicate and apply in their own settings.

 

The three award categories are Women, Youth and MSMEs, which seek to highlight the unique contributions of each group while underscoring the critical importance of whole-of-society partnerships and an inclusive approach to implement the BCG economy model. The APEC BCG Award supports and contributes to the implementation of the Bangkok Goals on BCG Economy.

Nominations

  • Women: Woman-owned business (≥50% ownership or voting power)

  • Youth: Age ≤30 (as of 31 Dec 2025)

  • MSMEs: ≤500 employees

  • In operation for at least one year

  • Citizen/resident/business owner in Brunei

  • Represent a replicable BCG model/approach/activity

How to Apply?

Interested parties may email international@bedb.gov.bn with the subject title ‘[Application] APEC BCG Award 2025’ by 5.00pm, 30 May 2025. In your email, please outline:

 

  1. Which goal(s) of the Bangkok Goals on BCG Economy does your work contribute to? Describe how your work corresponds to the key areas and targets of the Bangkok Goals on BCG Economy. (Visit www.bangkokgoals.apec.org for more information)
     

  2. In addition to the above, please provide data or more information on the tangible impact of your work. 
     

  3. List any other awards, achievements or recognition you/your business has ever received.
     

  4. Please attach the following supporting documents:

    • CV and/or company profile/organisation overview

    • Profile photo/headshot

    • 3-5 photos of your company/organisation in action

Selection Process

All eligible nominees will be reviewed internally. Shortlisted candidates will be presented to the APEC BCG Award Selection Committee for consideration.

Prize:

The 2025 APEC BCG Award will be awarded to one winner for each Award category. Each Award winner will receive a cash prize of $5,000 USD. The Award winners will be announced at the 2025 APEC Ministerial Meeting scheduled to be held in November in Gyeongju, Republic of Korea.
