Brunei Week at SIE 2026

Join Brunei Week in Sabah, held in conjunction with the Sabah International Expo 2026 from 4–6 September at the Sabah International Convention Centre in Kota Kinabalu. Brunei businesses across a wide range of sectors are invited to showcase their products and services, strengthen brand visibility, connect with potential buyers, distributors and partners, and explore export opportunities in Sabah and the wider regional market.

Event Details & Background  


Event Name: Brunei Week in Sabah, in conjunction with the Sabah International Expo 2026

Date: 4 – 6 September 2026

Venue: Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia

Organizers: Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI); Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB); Sabah State Government; The Federation of Sabah Industries (FSI); and The Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MICCI)


Brunei Week is back, this time in Sabah. Held in conjunction with the Sabah International Expo (SIE) 2026, Brunei Week is a dedicated national showcase designed to highlight Brunei’s homegrown brands to international market. Co-organized by METI and BEDB, the event offers Brunei businesses a unique platform to promote their products, engage directedly to buyers, and explore market potential in the region. 


This year’s Brunei Week will be held alongside the Sabah International Expo 2026, Sabah’s Premier Biennial Trade Fair and the largest trade fair in East Malaysia. SIE 2026 will feature over 300 booths and is expected to attract 10,000 trade visitors and 30,000 general visitors. Participating under the Brunei Week banner, exhibitors will benefit from cohesive national presence, professionally branded booths, and marketing support. 


This event is ideal for Bruneian brands looking to test their products in a regional market setting, build brand awareness, and connect with potential buyers, distributors, and partners in Sabah.

Type of Event  


Business-to-Business (B2B) & Business-to-Consumer (B2C) Exhibition for Brunei-branded products and services, including (but not limited to):  Food & Beverages, Information Technology, Oil & Gas, Building Materials, Agriculture, Manufacturing, Healthcare, and Services & Tourism. 



Objectives of Participation


  • To establish business leads for export opportunities, the event will provide suppliers with valuable access to quality international clients including distributors, importers, hotels, manufacturers and retailers. 

  • Increase visibility and brand recognition among international consumers by showcasing products in a high-traffic retail environment. 

  • Build product interest and consumer engagement through sampling, live demonstrations, and direct interactions. 

  • To gain valuable insights into development and trend of various industries. 



Application Deadline  


The completed Exhibitor Application Form must be submitted no later than Fri, 31 July 2026, 5PM. Slots are limited! Only shortlisted companies will be contacted via email.

Eligibility Criteria for Exhibitors   


  • Must be a Brunei-registered company, with Brunei-branded products and services across any industry 

  • Products to be showcased must be marketable with suitable packaging and labelling.   

  • Must have sufficient production capacity for international markets.  

  • Must be physically present and have enough manpower to promote company’s products/services throughout the event period. 

  • Must be willing to bear the associated cost of participation not subsidized by METI (see details below).  



Participation Cost  


Below are the costs covered by METI, and costs expected to be borne by participating exhibitors:  


  • Borne by METI: 

    • Booth Space, Design & Fittings (total of 9 allocated booth spaces)

    • Event Service Fee to Organizer inclusive of publicity opportunities  


Note: Brunei companies will be participating collectively under the Brunei pavilion at the event.  


  • Borne by exhibitors: 

    • Transport – flights and road transfer to and from the event  

    • Accommodation  

    • Insurance 

    • Logistics – any transport of goods to Malaysia and to and from the event

    • All other items e.g. additional booth requirements, or Customs / Health / any declarations / certifications required by both Brunei and Malaysia, or any other costs involved.
