Objective
  • To encourage young local entrepreneurs to start and own their companies​

  • To provide an opportunity for youth to develop and own business​

  • To create job opportunities for Bruneians​

  • To allow direct contract with Clients in the Non-Energy Sector

How i-Usahawan for Non-Energy Sector works?
  • Interested youth entrepreneurs must register, participate and complete training in Micro Bootcamp

  • Youth entrepreneurs with registered business may apply to be a vendor in DARe LINKS to access contracts under i-Usahawan Non-Energy

  • Non-Energy Clients will advertise EOI for i-Usahawan Ring-Fenced Tenders in DARe LINKS

  • Eligible vendors may submit tender for Clients evaluation

  • Vendors awarded i-Usahawan projects will be provided with mentorship opportunities, and the relevant support by DARe throughout the duration of the project

  • Successful vendors may continue to bid for other i-Usahawan projects within 3 years from the first awarded contract

What is i-Usahawan for Non-Energy Sector?

i-Usahawan is a youth entrepreneurship development program that supports and provides opportunities for young Bruneians to start and grow their businesses by securing ring-fenced contracts offered by Clients that would consist of Government agencies, Government Linked Companies and Statutory bodies as well as Corporate Organisations.

i-Usahawan for Non-Energy sector encompasses projects from participating Clients from industries other than Oil & Gas and Downstream.

Non-Energy Clients will be providing ring-fenced contract with minimum 1-year duration (with provision to allow for contract extensions based on client requirements and contract performance).

Eligibility Criteria
  • Bruneian Citizens and Permanent Residents (who are not citizens of foreign nations) who own a locally registered business/company

  • Youth ages of 18-35 years old​

  • The business/company MUST NOT have any prior contract with Government, GLCs, or Statutory bodies in the previous 5 years

  • Actively running and involved in the daily operations

  • For Sole Proprietorship and Partnership, incorporation as Sdn Bhd in Brunei is encouraged upon award of contract
